Niantic and Meta partner to expand Peridot’s Hello, Dot experience

皆さん、こんにちは。

Today we’re excited to announce that we’re partnering with Meta to bring even more delight to the Hello, Dot experience available on Meta Quest 3 in the coming months.

When we launched Hello, Dot earlier this year our goal was to bring the world of Peridot into the future – offering a glimpse of what it could look like in a heads-up augmented reality experience beyond the smartphone. Hello, Dot started as an initial proof-point for how you might interact with your adorable Dots in a new immersive way, but our intention was always to develop a more comprehensive game-like experience.

Over recent months we’ve been tinkering and exploring the parameters of spatial game design, and prototyping how the gameplay interactions might work. Ramping up on mixed reality development for this fully immersive environment has been both fun and challenging for our team.

We have been focused on brainstorming, sketching, and then playing early prototypes to really feel what it’s like to have a Peridot at home. It’s been enchanting to be able to virtually 3D print anything at any time, and we’ve come up with some crazy contraptions to make accessorizing your Dot a delight, for example. The team is aiming to bring wonder to every part of the new improved experience… imagine a charming way to pick up loot after a successful play date! We can’t wait to get this magic into your hands.

We look forward to sharing even more details about the expansion of Hello, Dot as we get closer to launch.
